Oh Naaa Naaa Whats my name!?

The album is crazy good right? At first when I heard Rihanna was releasing another album I was a little hesitate...apathetic. Cause I mean she just released Rated R November 20th, 2009. Im like dang girl can you give us a break, you starting to act like Beyonce. HOWEVER! I must say after I heard the first single, Only Girl in the World i was persuaded to see what Ri Ri was doing. I mean Rated R was cool but a little toooo dark for me.

Loud is overflowing with potential singles, and frankly brilliant pop music, “Only Girl (In The World)” is quite simply mammoth. Had this track dropped in August Rihanna would have become the queen of Ibiza. Elsewhere Rihanna steps away from the dance floor for the silky sex rhymes of “What’s My Name”; where Drake is reduced to a brief forgettable cameo next to Rihanna’s carefully judged combination of subdued hooks and heartfelt verses.

While a consistently high across is maintained throughout Loud there are some noticeable missteps. “California King Bed” is a tired an unnecessary ballad. It feels instantly dated with it’s muted guitar acoustic guitar backing and it’s quiet-loud dynamic. It’s the kind of track that artists like Rihanna, Beyonce and even Britney seem to have placed arbitrarily on all of their LPs. At its best it’s generic, at its worst it’s tiresome and overwrought. It’s the kind of track that Gaga would never write; "California King Bed" limp, predictable and cliché ridden, the kind of track the best pop records avoid. “Complicated” is less offensive, but sees Rihanna playing the role of Matt Bellamy with long straining vocals, it’s certainly engaging, but it cannot escape from a distinct feeling of mediocrity.

Again Rihanna fails to top the Billboard 200 with a #1 album. This is her biggest opening week to date in her whole career.Loud hit the charts at #3

Ok ok...so as some of you know, and others don't, Kelly Rowland is set to release her 3rd studio album sometime in November. So she has been doing a lot of promotions getting ready for the album. It is now rumored she will be preforming her hit "Commander" which topped the billboard dance charts at no.1

My only suggestion is that, she permanently fire Tina" Tacky Tina" Knowles as her wardrobe stylist, leave those wigs from the hood chinese beauty supply store alone, and she needs to pre-record a live track..we all know she cant sing that live very well... #shade.

You know I have to say I am proud of Mo'Nique for winning Best Supporting Actress at the Academy. However, I must say this... When will a black actress get an academy for not playing a stereotypical angry black woman.

Stereotypes about black women have coursed through pop culture for centuries. They range from the smiling, asexual, and often obese Mammy to the promiscuous Jezebel who lures men with her sexual charms. But the one getting a major workout these days is the angry black woman. No one ever sees her as independent or innovative she is always loud, rude, and ready to cuss you out.

I hope I am alive the day a black woman can receive an award for just pure talent.

1. Corrine Bailey Rae- I'd Do it All Again

This song will be included in her second studio album "The Sea" which is due to come out in February. I love this song, Corrine has been off the scene for a few years after the death of her husband. I have always been a fan of hers...this song, is very personal of her to share with the world... listen to it and tell me what you think.



2. Sade- Solider of Love

Sade in my opinion is timeless! After a 10 year hiatus she is back! Her album "Solider of Love" is set to debut in February just like Corrine, and is highly anticipated. This song wouldnt be a Sade song if it didnt have anything to do without love. This song says to me- Do what you have to, to have love...its rough, but get threw.


3. Alicia Keys feat. Drake- Unspeakable (Ready)
This song in my opinion is SEXY! Its a track off of Mz.Keys new Album "The Element of Freedom" which came out last month and debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200. It reminds me a bit of Janet Jackson, when she had the whole "sexy" thing going. Very cute song.

Album Review: Alicia Keys- The Element of Freedom

First and foremost let me say that this album gives me life. You need it. At first I thought it sounded to much of the same and repetitive...a waste of my time right!

Well was i wrong lol. This album has a wonderful flow to it...track to track Alicia said "The way that the songs progress [on the album] are gonna take you on a natural high. I just want you to feel a sense of freedom, I want you to feel out-of-the-box, feel inspired, You're definitely going to be taken on a trip, I know you're going to be shocked, you're going to hear things that you probably didn't think that I would sound like. It's a journey"

I dont know if I like this whispering thing in her voice, I mean it sounds okay... she tried to pull that whispering stunt on that "As I Am" CD I mean I liked it, its just a little weird.

Shes at a different place in her life and you can hear it in her voice. I think its beautiful.

.Semi Spiritual Rant.

Healing is something as humans we do everyday...if we realize it or not, every second of the day we are healing from something. Sometimes more than one thing. I thought about this today when I was taking a shower.

We are made to weather the storms...big and small, and at the end of the day we know what we can handle and what we cannot.

Its so intriguing, the hell we put ourselves through...things that can be avoided. Relationships, Friendships... staying up all night for test, worrying about if that person likes you or not. Things like that...

What would it be like if we just became free-like lived day to day and realized that life is full of worries and trying to get the most out of it.

Something that I always tell myself that makes me happy and calm is "Know that God is Faithful" and this can apply to you no matter what higher power you believe in.

I firmly believe that all things happen for a reason...good or bad, stupid or irrelevant.

People always say live your life to its fullest, and I fully support this. -Not only is life to short, its to many moments that pass us by that we cannot get back.

Beyonce NEW Album in 2010

Beyonce has seemingly confirmed that she’ll release a new album in 2010. The star chose an unusual venue to reveal the news- on stage in Nottingham. In the Trent FM Arena on Saturday night B shouted: “I’ll see you in a year with a new album.”

Knowles released her double CD I Am… Sasha Fierce in late 2008 and has so far released eight different singles from it- including current track Video Phone. The hardworking star has had a busy 2009 spending most of the year touring as well as dazzling at the VMAs and EMAs.

My only concerns with this is, will the album sell and is she over saturating us...now I will be the first one to tell you I LIVE for Beyonce...and given her past history with album releases, she has released a album every two years...so it would only be right if she released on in 2010...she is has a point to prove for some reason-and I do not think she will stop until she gets out her message loud and clear...

She has only 3 studio albums as a solo artist... add in the DC albums 4 more...so 7. She has already achieved so much... lets hope it is not down hill from now.

Will the real musician please stand up!

Ok so to some of you this looks very confusing and like lines and dots...So let me break it down for you...



Ok, so this is a song for piano... the word "Lento" is Italian that is in the top corner of the screen means that this song is slow. It is in the key of Db Major.... the beginning has "pp" which is Italian for pianissimo, which means very soft.

Okay so I did that just to show you how difficult reading music could be...trust me there is a whollllleee lot more I could have went into...time signature, slurs, ties, clefs...all kinds of stuff.

Avery why are you saying this? Because I get upset when someone refuses to learn how to read music, or wants to call themselves a musician...just because you can play some notes and K Ci and Jo Jo songs does not make you a musician. Music is so beautiful and I think it is sooo disrespectful to not embrace ALL of it for what it truly is... A Universal Language... I could play in a band with a person from each country who all could read music, and we would all understand the music and details of it, without needing a single translator.

I just hate when people say Oh, you play piano? Me Too!!! NOOOOO Sir, I have been training since I was 5 years old, I am 21. This is not a hobby for me. It is nice to be able to read something someone wrote 400 years ago.

I want people to play my music when I die-My Goal. I want to write lots of music and I want to be remembered through my music... If you cannot read music how do you plan on writing it down and passing it down generation to generation... If you are going to do something, than DO IT all the way... One thing my Dad always said to me when I was little and growing up [WHICH I HATED] "Do not half do ANYTHING" that could have meant, cleaning my room, washing dishes, cutting grass, homework, and music...

Playing by ear is not enough, I learned how to do that at 13, Not only can I play by ear, but I can write it down for someone else to see, or orchestrate a whole orchestra with instruments from all over the world....

Im sorry if this offends anybody, but playing music by ear and thats it is stupid if you do not want to progress... All you will be able to do is play in some baptist church your WHOLE life, and if your lucky you might be allowed to direct the choir.

George Bernard Shaw born in 1856 said something that is so relevant to today... "Hell Is Full Of Musical Amateurs" ...read it again, that statement is sooo powerful.>>>> My interpretation is, Everyone can play music by ear if they want to... the amateurs never make it, there are SO MANY OF THEM... but the ones who hone their craft dont have to be in the company of amateurs....

Is Sex Overrated?

Okay so this is something I have wanted to write about for a long time. I feel that sex before marriage or any type of serious relationship is overrated and dumb.

Avery are you saying that I am stupid for having sex before I was married? No! Here is how I came to this conclusion...

I believe that sex is something you have with someone that you are serious about I believe that it is a Spiritual process where you exchange parts of your soul with someone. With that being said, do you want everybody to have a piece of you? >>My Friend told me that it is their way of showing someone that they like them, when I heard that I said "WOWOWOWOW" Cause I thought to myself what else could you give that person? You have just given them the ultimate gift..."You" and whats the point of them getting to know you more? They automatically assume that you give it up to everybody and that your a quick "F$#@"

This is my theory... When someone has feelings for you that they based off of sexual interactions, once the sex is over...so are those feelings until they are horny again. So you're relationship with them is based off of sex pretty much, and you should not expect anything more...gifts, dates, whatever-maybe a box of condoms. There comes a point in your're life when you have to have options and not be ANYONES option...

I say sex is overrated because there is soooo much invested in just ONE sexual interaction with someone...and if you think that you are emotionally able to handle that, then by all means, drop down and get cha eagle on. I just feel that your getting tooo much for something that you think is simple... >>>>>Okay so you have sex for lets say 1 hour, after its over you may start to think okay, I cant wait for that to happen again, I wonder if they like me, I want to be with them...AND for them it could have just been SEX and nothing more.

So I say sex is overrated unless your in a very longterm relationship or married, because you can emotionally,physically,spiritually afford to have sex with your partner...there is NO gamble because YOU have a relationship...

The reason I will wait till marriage. lol

Rihanna: Rated R Album Review

Here it is, I kno some of you have been waiting for me to upload this, and to tell you the truth I have had the CD for a couple of weeks and have purposely not listened to the tracks. Avery, why didnt you want to hear Riri? because I was scared. This album had two choices, to either be great-establishing her as some sort of entertainer, or to suck and make her more industry than she already is.

The Verdict...

This album is going to be rememberable for Rihanna's career...heres why: This is who she is as a artist. Anyone that starts off in music usually has to do and sing what the label tells them, and if they sell then a few records down the line they can do what they want to...she has a dark side, and we should have seen this coming with Disturbia.

To me this is nice 1st attempted at letting us know who the real Rihanna is...

Do I like the Album?? I do not, I feel like some songs are on the album for the simple fact of being on the album.

Do I have some songs I lie?? Sure do ...I like Fire Bomb, Russian Roulette, and G4L.

I do not believe that this album was packaged right...more could have been done, but I do believe that her management and PR rushed this thing.

Sidenote: She has a song called "Te Amo" which is Spanish for I Love You... I never understood why American singers named songs in different languages then sing the whole song in english.... people cant speak english as it is.

I am a tad bit disappointed because I feel like her next album will be the real TRUTH.

A little Shopping In China Town

So this past weekend was my birthday...so my BFF's @La'Nette and @Denise took me lots of places

I was told to be up @ 10:30am sharp! OMG.....where could we be going? New York is such a huge city! So we went to dinner ...

...at the end of our dinner they both asked me if I wanted Coach, LV, Gucci, Prada... and I said Why sure!

So this resulted in hitting the streets of China Town, as we strolled down the street little oriental people walked past us whispering "coach coach coach" or "Rolex, gucci" and I was soooo amazed at this...HA

...How Amazed was I?? I took Pictures! BAM.

One of the china ladies led us into a sunglass hut....WHY AM I HERE? ....

This man pulled out a chirp and said something foreign to me, and someone responded, next thing I know

...A trap door opens, and its heaven....

This song is very adult like...she is basically saying, Yeah i loved you and still do...but I am going to try to find a way to make it without you. Its a great song, its like right when you break up with that person and you want to hate them and you cant because you love them. and realize you always will. Very powerful song.








5.Jennifer Hudson- You Pulled Me Through
Her voice is just so freaking powerful! Its one of those inspirational songs where you can look back at your life and see that you have had some very dark moments and you got through it.







6.Mary J. Blige- Stay Down
This is another grown people song lol.. In this song she is speaking about a relationship... one that has lasted a long time. She's basically saying she knows that things happen but she will stay down through thick and thin...and when I listen to it, I cannot help but to think that I want the same thing that MJ is referring to in this song.

7. Destiny's Child- Free
A feel good joint... the lyrics are so true to life. I mean think about it there is no feeling like being free, when your mind is made up and your heart is in the right place. Its just very mellow, I love how their voices blend together.

8. Alicia Keys- Sure Looks Good To Me

9.Mary Mary- God In Me
I have heard this song at waaayyyyy to many clubs! LMAO You never know what someone has been through and how they get by day to day...and sometimes it is God that keeps people together and grounded. You may think their lucky and stuff cause their famous and blah blah blah, but what you dont know is that they give all honor to God.










10. Beyonce- Satellites
I have noticed they although we have learned that Beyonce is borrrinnng as a person, these ballads she has given us are VERY deep. This song is one of them, I was like wOw when I first heard it.
